MEL O'BRIEN
Mel O'Brien (she/her) is an award-winning musical theatre dynamo, comedian, and writer/composer hailing from Melbourne. Fresh from the spotlight of 'FANGIRLS' at the Sydney Opera House/Belvoir, she's also the creative force behind the hit musical comedy duo 'Mel & Sam'. Mel & Sam recently conquered the podcast realm with 'Mel & Sam', hitting #2 on the Comedy Charts.
A NIDA (Musical Theatre) and Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (Bachelor and Master of Music - Voice) graduate, Mel's versatility shines across musical theatre, cabaret, opera, and screen. Recent credits include Philia in 'A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum' (Watch This), Angel in the Green Room award-winning 'The Gospel According To Jesus, Queen Of Heaven' (Fortyfive Downstairs/Midsumma), and Flick in 'Flat Earthers' (Griffin Theatre Company/Malthouse Workshop).
Mel's "outlandish ideas, comic intuition, and THAT voice" have left an indelible mark on Australia's comedy and musical theatre scenes.
